League Strategies
Fantasy League Type...what's your fancy?
There are many different types of fantasy baseball league formats out there: AL Only, NL Only, Mixed, Roto, Points, Head-to-Head, Strat-o-Matic, Dynasty, Scoresheet, etc. Not to mention the different draft variations such as Keeper, Re-Drafts, Auction or Snake-Drafts.
It can be mind-boggling trying to figure out what type of league to join, or form--whether you're just getting into fantasy baseball, or whether you're a seasoned vet forming a new league with some buddies.

Players on the DL: A Valuable Art in the Fantasy World
I am an avid believer that fantasy baseball is an art! From using multi position players, to your research, to pick ups and trades...but I have found one way to expand my roster and stash players from other prospecting managers...the DL!!! Even if you don't have any intentions of keeping the player on the DL, you keep him from other managers. This is when you can take chances on players that may have been playing hurt, or underachieving...all the while they aren't hurting your stats because they are resting, recovering, or rehabbing.
Catchers: Big 5 or Bust!
This entry in my blog probably needs to go under both fantasy strategy, and player analysis! However I had to chose one so it is going under player analysis. Catcher...the most important and I believe coveted positions on the diamond...I guess you could say I also think this because that was my position throughout most of my baseball career!
Multi Position Players: The Key to Winning Championships!
There are plenty of reasons why people win their fantasy baseball leagues. Many of them put together a team that will out hit every team in the league and hope to pick up a few pitching stats. Some people load up on pitching and hope to pick up a few hitting stats. I don't think there is an exact science to winning fantasy baseball leagues. Howev
Sluggers or Pitchers?
Okay, so everyone has a draft strategy! Many people listen to the experts and wonder why their team is sitting in the basement. I am here to tell you this, create your own strategy and I am going to tell you how!
Getting Value from Rookies - Deal Bruce Now!
So you think I'm crazy for saying deal Jay Bruce now?
A big part of fantasy baseball is getting good value cheap, and getting the most for players that are potentially overvalued. No where else does this come into play more than with fantasy rookies and top-notch prospects.
Player Analysis
One of the things that drives me crazy about roto websites it that they almost always provide analysis for mixed leagues. They reccommend waiver wire pickups like Max Scherzer or Cliff Lee. Anyone in an AL/NL Only league knows that these guys have been long gone. It would be great if we could provide some opinion on some good waiver wire pickups for AL/NL only leagues like...<
Why I Suck: Watch the waivers, or watch your team slip!
You might say it's ironic that the next installment of "Why I Suck" at fantasy baseball is about keeping informed and staying up to date on MLB news, and just as importantly your league's activity, when it's been a while since I've updated this article series. I wouldn't say it's ironic, however. I'd say it's par for the course.
