About Roto Joe.com

The term "fantasy expert" has always struck me as odd...

We play fantasy sports because we want to play a bigger role in the real game than we do as "fans."  We want to create our own rosters, manage our own lineups, name our own teams, spend our money the way we think it should be spent.  Basically, by playing fantasy sports there's a feeling that we're just as smart (or smarter) as the people doing these same tasks for the "real" teams.

Deep amidst our love of the game resides the knowldege that WE ARE THE FANTASY EXPERTS.  We sit around for hours looking over projected lineups to see who's the best player to start.  We tune into the weather channel to see if the weather might impact a pitcher we're thinking of throwing on the mound that night.  We scour the internet for the latest injury and trade information/rumors so that we can be the first manager to pick up a new prospect or reserve player from the waiver wire.  We pay attention to our local high school and college baseball teams, and tune into the draft each year in hopes of picking up that stud in our league's farm draft, or using this knowledge against our league to blind-side them when the next big thing is getting called up in a couple of months.

We do all of these things because we love the game.  For us there is no fantasy in this game.  It is as real and meaningful to us as penant and wildcard races.  These games are ego versus ego.  Pride is definately on the line.  Most of us play against our close friends, family members, or co-workers.  None of us want to show up at work the next day, at the next bar-b-q, or the next family get together and hear trash talk from someone we lost to.  We want to destroy them.  Everyone.  Because we won't stop researching, reading, watching, and living fantasy sports until we stand atop our fantasy league as champions!  And even in defeat we still push forward until we've solidified our money spot, or pulled together the best deals to solidify our keepers.

We are fantasy sports' regular joes.  We are the experts.

And from this love of sports and drive to succeed in fantasy sports comes RotoJoe.com.  RotoJoe.com lets us be the fantasy experts.  We get to show off our knowledge by posting articles and analysis in the Joe Speaks blog.  Our thoughts and comments reign equally with the experts on topics such as Player Analysis, Fantasy Strategy, MLB News, and MLB Rumors.  Plus, we can ask questions in Joe's Forums about potential trades, lineup questions, or league ethics and rules issues.  Not only can we ask questions, we can answer questions and share our extensive knowledge with other fantasy players!

But RotoJoe.com also offers a few other things unique to any other fantasy sports site.  The Not-So-Expert Joes article series pulls together different points of views from fantasy players to add insight and humor.  They're not-so-experts because WE are the experts.  Plus, RotoJoe.com also has Joe's Teams.  Real fantasy sports teams that are guided in every way by the RotoJoe.com Nation.  We pick the name, decide the moves, and name the keepers!

Because of all of this, we play fantasy sports.  We are fantasy experts.  And RotoJoe.com is our fantasy home.
