MLB Allstar Game: What A Joke!
I am so unbelievably tired and disgusted everytime I hear about who is leading the all star balloting!
National League:
2B - Mark Derosa ahead of Dan Uggla...and Brandon Phillips not even in the top 5?
OF - Explain to me how Alfonso Soriano(injured), Ken Griffey Jr(Popularity), and Fukudome(Popularity) over #4. Ryan Braun, #5. Matt Holliday, #6. Carlos Lee, #8. Cory Hart, and #10 Pat Burrell.
SS - Miguel Tejada and Ryan Theriot ahead of Jimmy Rollins and Jose Reyes.
Players not even on the list - Yunel Escobar, Kelly Johnson, Jorge Cantu, Brandon Phillips, Adam Dunn, Russell Martin, Mark Teixeira, Adrian Gonzalez, Jason Bay, Garrett Atkins, Ryan Doumit, and Nate Mclouth!
American League:
1B - Justin Morneau is behind Kevin Youkilis
2B - Ian Kinsler is behind Pedroia
OF - Explain how Milton Bradely is #8, Magglio Ordonez is #9, Grady Sizemore is #12, Carl Crawford is #14, and B.J. Upton is #15...when Bobby Abreu, J.D. Drew, and Johnny Damon are 5-7, Melky Cabrera is #10, and Coco Crisp is #13...
Players not even on the list - Jermaine Dye, Carlos Quentin, Curtis Granderson, Nick Markakis, Jhonny Peralta, Evan Longoria, and Carlos Guillen.
David Ortiz, and Hank Blalock have been out for extended periods of time and are in the top 5 for their positions.
How can an allstar game be a true allstar game when we don't have the best players inthe game on the field...more importantly how can we allow home field advantage to be decided by the allstar game when the best players in each league are not represented!!! the allstart game is a JOKE!!!

True...it's rediculous that
True...it's rediculous that home field advantage in the world series is decided at an exhibition game.
I still can't believe Manny is on the ballet. He never goes.
As for Pedroia, looking over the updated AL voting, in every position either a Red Sox or Yankees player is currently #1 or #2, with DH (Ortiz and Matsui) and 3B (A-Rod and Lowell?!?) being the two positions where Red Sox and Yankees take both top spots. East Coast Bias? Just proves that the larger markets have a larger fan base...which can produce more votes...so their players make it there more often.
