Jackopierce set to release "Promise of Summer"
After many years of whispers, acclaimed accoustic duo Jackopierce has announced that a new JP album will be hitting the stores this fall!
Promise of Summer will be the first album in over a decade for the duo of Jack O'Neil and Cary Pierce. The group split up after a farewell tour in 1997, only to reunite a few years ago to play a few dates a year as an accoustic duo. Now, with the new album on its way, Jackopierce has a fall tour planned. No word yet on if it will be an accoustic tour, or if JP will bring out a full band on the upcoming tour. There are currently 18 stops planned for the fall tour.

Promise of Summer features 10 new studio tracks, and a new recording of "March," an old JP staple. The new album is set to be released on September 9, 2008. JP has already released several of the songs via its Myspace page for fans to sample. (Although I am clearly biased, I must say that the new songs bring back a good mix of Cary Pierce's pop presence and Jack O'neils thick lyrics, which culminates in a sound sure to bring back the best memories of the oldest JP fans, as well as reach the hearts of new JP fans alike.)
